Products

Monothane polyurethanes in the HS50 range is the highest build polyurethanes we can source. We don't use any other finish because we want the most durable surface on our customer's floors. These polyurethanes are very scuff resistant and able to withstand unforgiving family and children's heavy foot traffic. The gloss level of your finished floor is something to take into consideration. There are pro's and con's for varying the level of gloss on your particular floor. Satin (Or low sheen finish) - This level of gloss seems to be the most popular in this generation of customers. When you observe a floor with a low sheen finish you tend to look more at the timber, and the beauty of the timber grain rather than the gloss or shine on the surface of the higher gloss level finishes. It also has added benefits:1. Surface dust does not stand out as much.2. If the surface is damaged it will not be as highlighted as opposed to the higher gloss finishes due to light reflection on the edges of the damaged area.

Services

Floor sanding and polishing of timber floors in domestic and commercial premises. We also repair and replace damaged boards, brace floors and attend to woodworm affected timber floors. New internal staircases - If you have a new set of stairs we can sand and polish the treads, risers and stringers (Handrails and balustrades are generally not included in a floor sanders scope of work). Old existing polished stairs - If your existing stairs are looking a little tired you will have two options:1. A maintenance coat (Light sanding and wash down of the top coat and the application of a new top coat of polyurethane) This is only suitable if the coating and stairs are in fairly good condition and the surface of the polyurethane is looking a little dull. A rejuvenation of the gloss level and added durability to prolong the life of your stairs.2. A complete re-sand - Stripping off the existing coating and the application of three coats of high solids polyurethane. This will be required if your stairs have any form of damage or indentations you want removed or the existing top coat has worn through to the bare timber allowing dirt and moisture to penetrate it. The above mentioned situations also relate to strip timber flooring in terms of re-coating (maintenance coating) and complete re-sanding and re-coating.External deckingIf you have external decking we offer the same sanding and refinishing services using external decking finishes. These finishes are only available in low sheen and will enhance any new or existing decking timber outside your home.

Brands

Monothane HS50 is the polyurethane of choice at Economy Floor Sanding. These coatings are solvent based high solids finishes that are of commercial durability. They are designed to handle the busy foot traffic of a family life which can take it's toll on high traffic areas such as in hallways or the working triangle of the kitchen. ,

Once the protection on the floor surface wears through, your floors will need to be re-sanded and re-coated. The film build which resides between your feet and the raw timber is all the protection you have. It is in your best interests to ensure your protection lasts for more than ten years rather than just three or four.
